Poor shower pressure is a common problem in Clapham, Battersea and most the areas of South West London we work in. Often it’s quite costly to upgrade or improve your shower pressure too, and sometimes that cost can be quite prohibitive. Luckily there may be a light at the end of the tunnel…
Boosting weak shower pressure in Clapham SW4
We’ve recently fitted a very new invention in a home in Clapham, it’s an ‘inline shower boosting pump’, which kicks in automatically when the shower is opened and significantly boosts the shower pressure.
This customer had a typical setup with the hot water cylinder down on the ground floor, the cold water storage tanks up in the roof space and the shower at the top of the house (2nd floor). The traditional solution would be to install a shower pump, but doing that required a dedicated feed from both the hot water cylinder and the cold water tank, which was a major problem, and would have caused a lot of disruption, at huge expense.
Luckily we discovered these pumps, which fit neatly onto the pipes going to the shower. We simply cut a neat access hatch in the stud wall behind the shower and fitted the pumps. Afterwards we made a nice little removable access hatch which could be used to access the pumps for maintenance purposes.
